The Change List
Nothing changes in rekordbox while you tag. Every tag, rating, color, genre, playlist and sort out goes into the Change List first, on your Mac. Edits from your iPhone or iPad land there too.
Open the Review tab to see every pending change. You can remove single changes before you apply.
Apply
When you are ready, click Apply in the Review tab. Cuetto writes the whole Change List to rekordbox in one step.
- rekordbox must be closed. Cuetto checks this itself and waits if rekordbox is still running. Loading and tagging work while it is open.
- Cuetto checks for conflicts and never overwrites something that changed in rekordbox in the meantime.
- You can also start Apply from your iPhone or iPad. It runs on your Mac.
If you use Cloud Library Sync, open rekordbox on this Mac first after applying and let it finish syncing before you open the library on another computer.
Also Move Files to Trash
When the Change List contains sorted out tracks, the Apply window shows the option Also Move Files to Trash.
- Off: only the collection entry leaves rekordbox. The audio file stays where it is.
- On: the audio file goes to the Trash as well. It is never deleted for good, and Undo Last Apply brings it back.
Cuetto remembers your choice for the next apply. Change the default in Settings → Files. Files in a Dropbox folder disappear on all your devices when they go to the Trash.
Automatic backup
Right before every apply, Cuetto makes a backup of your rekordbox database and checks that the backup can be opened. If that fails, nothing is written. Audio files that get new tags or artwork are backed up before they are written, too.
Cuetto keeps the last 10 backups on your Mac, each about the size of your rekordbox database. They live in ~/Library/Application Support/Cuetto/backups.
Undo an apply
Choose Undo Last Apply… in the Review tab to revert the last apply in one step. Changed fields go back, removed tracks come back, and files return from the Trash and the backup. The entries then show up in the Change List again.
rekordbox has to be closed for this too, and Cuetto makes a fresh backup first. If rekordbox ran since the apply, anything rekordbox changed on its own stays as is. The result lists skipped entries.
Your tags on the player
Cuetto edits your main library, not the exported library on a USB stick or SD card. After applying, open rekordbox and export or sync your stick again as usual.
